  1. I personally disagree with you, but that doesn’t mean that you’re “wrong.”

    I think that sometimes swear words and violent scenes, etc. do enhance the story. For me, as a reader/watcher of films, necessary (e.g. Scenes that progress the story) violent scenes and such force me to think about things more seriously, in a way I wouldn’t if it were just implied. It adds magnitude to the situation.

    We all have different thresholds and preferences — and I think that’s totally okay!

    I disagree, yes. But I believe everyone is right to themselves. 🙂

    (As long as it’s not harming anyone, I think everyone’s entitled to their opinions).


    • Jacob, I assume you are talking about my “Adult Content” article? I didn’t put as much emphasis on this in my post, but what you say has some truth. I mentioned that some Wince Factors (like those in Batman) have a place in the story, and I linked to my Kingdom Pen article on that subject. Maybe you’d like to check that out and see how I deal with tricky content in my own fiction.
